Daniela Caballero Varona, MD

physician. founder. the woman behind vida.

medicine is what she does. helping women understand what's happening to their bodies is what she's building next.

from the emergency room to vida.

I spent years learning how to recognize what was wrong and what to do next. Then I found myself on the other side of the equation.

After completing my Emergency Medicine residency in 2019, I began experiencing extreme fatigue, brain fog, low motivation, and a growing sense that I didn’t quite feel like myself. I called it burnout. Then COVID. Then adulthood.

what if this was hormonal?

That question led me down a path I never expected. Even as a physician, finding answers about premenstrual disorders was difficult. The conventional medical system I had spent years training in wasn’t giving me the clarity I was looking for.

So I started learning differently — exploring the evidence around hormonal health alongside lifestyle medicine, nervous system regulation, and other approaches to understanding symptoms more fully.

VIDA grew from that experience.

I wanted to create the kind of place I had been looking for: one where women with premenstrual and hormonal disorders feel heard, where symptoms are given time and context, and where care isn’t compressed into a rushed 10-minute conversation.
